  • Finished first week of school

Well my first week of school is in the bag and I LOVE my classes. I am taking advanced Spanish, and there are only 6 students in the class including myself. There is a girl from China, a boy from Brazil, and three students from different parts of the US but are fluent in Spanish because their families are from either Columbia and Mexico. Usually everyday we talk, read, and write in Spanish. Spanish is the only class that I have 4 days a week but I love it. The other classes that I am taking are Spanish Civilization and Culture, Geopolitics and International Relations, and A Greater Middle East. These classes are so interesting and some will overlap as they already have. I am most excited about Geopolitics and International Relations since we will be talking about current politics especially since the US elections are coming up. So many things to learn!!! I am so excited to not have to work while I am here. I feel like I am going to learn soo much and will actually do the best that I can with all this free time.

My roommate and I have done SO many things since we've been here as you guys have been reading about. We've gone on tours with the school, we've hit up so many cafes and checked out some of the famous bars here, but today we went to two of Antoni Gaudi's most famous works; Casa Batllo and La Sagrada Familia. I added pictures if you'd like to see and the captions will have more information. The pictures don't do either justice but I am so glad that I had the opportunity to see both of these. Antoni Gaudi, the extremely famous Spanish architect, was a complete genius and there really are no words to describe how great they really are.

Tomorrow we are going to La Sagrada Familia again to take more pictures and go inside since today we made it there too late. We are also going to go to the aquarium, and then to a fountain show which is a show of a beautiful fountain that is synchronized with lights and music. We have already been once but it is just so much fun we want to go again. A ton of people always go with friends and dance and hangout and it's a very good time :) So many things to get done in so little time!!So, that's pretty much how things are going. Loving every minute pretty much and can't wait to start planning our weekend trips to Italy, France, and Germany.

Besos, Kimberly
